(May 17, 2002-Kew Gardens, NY) Linda Mayo-Perez has been named President and Chief Executive Officer of Maple Grove, a non-sectarian, non-profit, rural Cemetery, founded in 1875, in Kew Gardens, Queens, New York.   She has served in this position since September 2001.  Her objective in applying for a position “was to acquire challenging opportunities where my past achievements, experience, education and strong capabilities will fully make the highest and best contribution.”

Ms. Mayo-Perez is the first woman in the history of the cemetery to serve in this position and comes highly qualified and has expertise in specialized areas of: Organizational Change, Strategic Management, Budget Management, Leadership Development, Community Development Program Design, Capacity Building and Fundraising Strategies.  She has a proven track record for developing foundation and community support for institutions and programs which includes positions of Executive Director/CEO and General Manager of Federated Dorchester Neighborhood Houses, Inc., one of Boston’s largest human service agencies –--

(seven locations, 65 programs, 450+employees) and also served as Director of Saltonstall Community Health Programs at New England Medical Center and established, developed, created and initiated successful programs providing financial, program and clinical

resources  to community and other health

related  organizations.

As President and CEO, she will serve as a member of the Board of Trustees of Maple Grove Cemetery, and will be responsible for overall management of the Cemetery including creating,

implementing, and managing new strategic and

master plans.

Ms. Mayo-Perez will work closely with the Board of Trustees and Maple Grove’s loyal staff members to expand and build new programs to better serve the citizens of the Queens, New York area and especially the families who have loved ones interred at Maple Grove.
